Aimed at the mental health of women with a migrant background (spoken in Dutch)
I Meet Me
The Malak Foundation, in collaboration with Female Economy, organizes the annual "I Meet Myself" program – a powerful and transformative program aimed at strengthening the mental health and increasing self-awareness of women with a migrant background.
During ten sessions, participants work through body-oriented, speaking, and writing exercises on themes such as self-care, self-love, breaking patterns, and finding balance between the individual and the community. The sessions are structured around bioenergetics, family constellations, and emotional bodywork, and connect with the lived experiences of women growing up in a collective culture.
The program offers a preventative approach to mental health issues and contributes to strengthening personal leadership, emotional resilience, and sustainable social participation. Participants learn to recognize and express feelings, release limiting beliefs, and redefine their own position in relationships and within the community.
I Meet Me is an example of how the Malak Foundation contributes to increasing the mental resilience of women in vulnerable positions in an inclusive, culturally sensitive, and people-focused way. It aligns seamlessly with municipal policies on mental health promotion, equal opportunities, and social advancement.
