The Rat Raise

View of point is a seasonal project devoted to the permanent decolonization of thought, with a network of artists they create dancefloors that are absurdist, idealist conceptions of the future. They believe that by countering commodified nightlife, partying comes back out in its ritualistic colours.

For their spring gathering they will come to Het Groene Veld for a full day of music, installations and workshops. The spring theme is named “ The Rat Raise”, here is a brief explanation of the theme. 

In this age of acceleration, growth is caught in its own paradox.
Every action becomes a transaction as we increasingly lionize individualism, competition, and greed.
In the confusion of time, the cult of consumption undermines the space for genuine felt connections

Whilst the rising disillusionment with corporate life drives us to step out of the wheel of perpetual tail chasing, the racing has infected the energy of nightlife’s undercurrent.
Strengthened by social media, the backstage underground contradicts its own ideals. Surging identity elitism reinforces hierarchy, shaping a new generation of dancers and artists blinded by narcissistic satisfaction.
When partying becomes a continuation of the office, the gathering loses its ritual colours and drifts into a breeding ground for passivity.

Coming together allows us to reorganize beyond the paradigms that facilitate our doom.
As we raise the rats, we shatter the illusion of paradoxical power and come to see that we are all, in essence, imaginative beings capable of positive framing.
