HET GROENE VELD
Het Groene Veld is a free space, one of Amsterdam's last remaining fringes. A place in the city where culture and nature aren't invented or planned, but emerge naturally. Free from rigid structures and commercial pressures. By (neighborhood) residents, artists, and curious Amsterdammers who want to create, discover, and connect. It's a place where you can still make mistakes (and keep making them) and start over, without the feeling of failure. Everyone is welcome at Het Groene Veld and can help build this unique ecosystem.
UNDER PRESSURE
Especially in large cities, there's almost no free space left, yet such spaces are essential for a healthy and sustainable city. A city with breathing space and nature amidst the brickwork and bustle of the city. This is how a city remains livable, unique, and social.
Het Groene Veld isn't alone. A growing number of initiatives are grappling with the same challenge: how to survive in a city that's becoming increasingly crowded and expensive? The last few square meters of open space in Amsterdam are at risk of disappearing. That's why we need your help now.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
We want to remind the municipality that it considers protecting the city's fringes important. Read more about what you can do to support us.
