DESCRIPTION:Território“Território” is a series of photographs taken between 2012 and 2026 that document part of the daily life of an Indigenous territory reclaimed in Peruíbe\, on the southern coast of São Paulo. The exhibition shows routines\, practices\, knowledge\, and affections into a few images. These photos seek to give visibility to the existence and resistance of a tupi guarani people.About.In 1950\, hundreds of Indigenous people were expelled from their land by a mining company.For 50 years\, all the vegetation\, soil\, and life in this territory were devastated.In 2000\, an elder\, Dona Catarina\, organized her family\, returned to the territory where her ancestors lived\, and confronted the mining company and the state. The threats and conflicts were constant.The existence of this people in this territory became synonymous of resistance.In 2012\, a group of young Indigenous people met us due to demonstrations and struggles in the neighboring city and invited us to participate in a process of building houses\, schools\, cultural centers\, community kitchens\, bathrooms\, resistance and struggle in this territory.In 2016\, after many struggles\, the territory was recognized as Indigenous Land by the Brazilian state.During these years\, with an old camera in hand\, at the request of the families\, we took these photos\, something like proof of the existence of a people.The exhibition “Território” presents some of these photos.“Território” speaks about the possibility of existing in the world in other ways\, completely distant from the state and capitalism.The Piaçaguera Indigenous Land resists\, the struggle continues!Cultive Resistência\, 2026Discussion.A moment to share stories of struggle and organization.We have been with Indigenous families since 2012\, collectively supporting and being supported by these people. DESCRIPTION:Território“Território” is a series of photographs taken between 2012 and 2026 that document part of the daily life of an Indigenous territory reclaimed in Peruíbe\, on the southern coast of São Paulo. The exhibition shows routines\, practices\, knowledge\, and affections into a few images. These photos seek to give visibility to the existence and resistance of a tupi guarani people.About.In 1950\, hundreds of Indigenous people were expelled from their land by a mining company.For 50 years\, all the vegetation\, soil\, and life in this territory were devastated.In 2000\, an elder\, Dona Catarina\, organized her family\, returned to the territory where her ancestors lived\, and confronted the mining company and the state. These photos seek to give visibility to the existence and resistance of a tupi guarani people.About.In 1950\, hundreds of Indigenous people were expelled from their land by a mining company.For 50 years\, all the vegetation\, soil\, and life in this territory were devastated.In 2000\, an elder\, Dona Catarina\, organized her family\, returned to the territory where her ancestors lived\, and confronted the mining company and the state.
