Orange the World 2025 in Amsterdam-Noord
Together North: Safe, always and everywhere
Violence against women and girls isn't an individual problem; it's a societal issue that affects us all. Under the national theme "Municipalities Take Action: Safe Everywhere, Anytime," we cordially invite you to participate in Orange the World 2025 in Amsterdam-Noord.
Deze campagne wordt georganiseerd in samenwerking tussen Stadsdeel Noord, Vrouw aan het IJ, Stichting Malak, Stichting Home Empowerment (SHE) en Noordse Vrouwen / Civic Amsterdam.
From November 25 to December 2, 2025, we will color Amsterdam North orange together, the color of hope, solidarity, and a future without violence.
With four inspiring activities, we bring together residents, volunteers, professionals, and policymakers to raise awareness, share experiences, and work together to create a safe Amsterdam-Noord.
Program:
Opening Orange the World Week – Exhibition "For Her" & Lunch
Tuesday, November 25, 2025, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Stadsdeelkantoor Amsterdam-Noord
The official opening with the photo exhibition "For Her," in which women from the North share their stories and strength. A moment of recognition, connection, and reflection, with contributions from relatives, experts with lived experience, and local residents.
Workshop & Networking Meeting – Identifying Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence
Thursday, November 27, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Vrouw aan het IJ, Buiksloterweg 7A
An interactive meeting for volunteers, professionals and involved residents.
During the training you will learn to recognize signs of sexually transgressive behavior, discuss them and refer them.

Dialogue Session & Panel – "Stop Femicide! Jan also calls for attention

Het Groene Veld, G.J. Scheurleerweg 212, Amsterdam-Noord
An open discussion about femicide and gender-based violence, organized by the Malak Foundation in collaboration with the Kezban Foundation. We will discuss prevention, collaboration, and the need for a comprehensive, collaborative approach.
Together for Safety – Reflection & Action
Tuesday, December 2, 2025, 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Vrouw aan het IJ, Buiksloterweg 7A
A closing panel discussion with bereaved families, experts by experience, and local partners (including Blijfgroep, ToekomstKracht, and Nordic Women). We will reflect on the week and jointly formulate concrete recommendations for a safer North.
