Het Groene Veld is one of Amsterdam's last great free spaces. A place in the city where culture and nature aren't invented or planned, but emerge naturally. Free from a rigid structure and commercial pressure. Created by (neighborhood) residents, artists, and curious Amsterdammers who want to create, discover, and connect.

But how to survive in a city that's becoming increasingly crowded and expensive? The last few square meters of open space in Amsterdam are at risk of disappearing. That's why we need your help now.

Newletter Het Groene Veld – oktober 2026 (Dutch)

Een jaartje kwijt… maar bepaald niet de moed 🙂

Soms kan één klein typfoutje grote gevolgen hebben. Deze zomer kregen we van de gemeente het bericht dat de bewoners van de Slibvelden naar verwachting tot het voorjaar van 2029 konden blijven. Dat gaf lucht. Tot begin september een rectificatie in onze mailbox viel: sorry, er stond 2029, maar dat moest 2028 zijn. Een typootje van 365 dagen, en dat kan ons duur kan komen te staan!

Sunday Neighbourhood Cafe Closed

Due to renovations, Sunday Neighbourhood Cafe is closed until mid-November.

Once all the work is complete, the neighborhood café—featuring a spacious, pleasant terrace and a cozy interior stocked with board games, a ping-pong table, and a shuffleboard game—will reopen.
