around the world for 33 years as a sailing work of art
The Amsterdam ship of fools Azart, sailed around the world for 33 years as a sailing work of art to bring cheerfulness and theater.
Life artist Captain August Dirks wanted to repeat the VOC route, but differently: "Not throating, but sharing. Not stealing, but playing." When he becomes seriously ill, the ship sets sail for a final (spectacular!) berth. About the art of navigating, about hope and seeing life as an adventure.
Amsterdam's Azartplein is named after the ship.
Directors Annike Kaljouw and Masha Novikova and main character Actor/Captain August Dirks will be present at the screening for a Q&A. Afterwards, a nice photo (log) book and film posters will be available for sale.
