The Hajj

23 October 2026 @ 21:00 - 24 October 2026 @ 01:00

The Hajj The Hajj is a two-piece "Psychedelic Eastern Jam Punk" band consisting of brothers Philip and Freddie. Hailing from Limassol, Cyprus, and with Armenian and Lebanese roots, they bring together a unique blend of cultures, influences, and musical experiences. Their sound fuses Eastern sounds and grooves with hard-hitting punk and rock, centering on improvisation and the energy of live performance. A commitment to individuality, diversity, and music with a message runs through everything they do.

The brothers' musical journey began during their childhood in Saudi Arabia, where they were exposed to a wide range of sounds and musical styles. After moving to Ottawa, Canada, they formed their first band, Clepto, in 2000. Ten years later, they relocated to Southern California, which has since served as the home base for their recording and touring activities.

The Hajj was officially formed in 2017. Since then, the duo has toured the United States and Canada with the project and also returned to their home base in Cyprus. Philip and Freddie have now played over 300 shows, including performances at Scull Fest 12 in Pittsburgh and Punx Make Noise Fest in Quebec City, as well as at venues such as the Garden Amphitheater, Whisky a Go Go, and The Viper Room.

Expect a distinctive and energetic fusion of psychedelia, Eastern influences, punk, rock, and improvisation.
